In this lifetime, we have been so blessed. We are getting more than we ask for and more than we need, yet we still ask for more. In this social status driven community, everyone wants to have their own dose of high-end style. High-class is all the rage on print and tv mediums. We are socially addicted.
Nothings wrong, true.
There's nothing wrong in reaping one's success. Its a prize, not a price. We earned it, so we must savour it. It's physically and emotionally rewarding when you see that you've done something great. Some call it achievement, some says its luck. I never believed in luck. For me, achievement is 99% hardwork, and 1% luck. One can never let it go along with fate. Achievement is something that you worked hard for with dedication and passion, and when you go home at night, you can sit on your couch, and feel happy about it, no buts and ifs, no inhibitions.
But at this time, it's time to give back. People out there needs help, badly. What's a little break on your bank account when it's for a good cause. At least you made someone happy. Check your closets, there might be a lot in there thats been stored for the last decade, share it. If goods and cash are not your options, manpower is needed. Amount and quantity are not considered, it's the will to help with all you heart.
We have a lot to be thankful for. Starting when we wake up in the morning, on a nice comfy bed, ac still pouring out cold air to last the humid weather. When you sip your hot coffee, and devour a buttered toast. When you go on the shower and feel the water dripping along. When you feel the sun on your face. When you get on with your day, laugh with friends, do the job you love most, surf the net and post pics on facebook, stroll around the mall and be amazed on how talented people can be. Even when someone just smiles at you. When you finally sleep at night with the moon and stars gazing down. You see, these little things makes our world complete. It puts a smile on our face. It makes our day.
When you do things to please yourself, youre growing up. When you start doing things not for yourself but for others, you are a grown up.
Here's a quote my friend sent me the other day:
"One day, a rich dad took his son on a trip. He wanted to show how poor some people can be. They spent time on the farm of a poor family. On the way home, dad asked, "Hows the trip? Did you see how poor some people can be?" "Yes dad." "What did you learn?" " We have 1 dog, they have 4. We have a pool, they have an endless creek. At night we have fancy lanterns, they have stars. We buy food, they grow theirs. We have walls for protection, they have friends. Dad, you showed me how poor we are."
Lets give out, reach out. It's more fulfilling. It's a fulfillment that will last. Its a nice feeling when you give back, without expecting anything in return, and in return - just a smile. A smile of gratitude. It certainly can make you, awww!
